On
18 March 2009, all our life groups participated in Seed Projects. Here are some
examples of what they did:
Ansjah
Bloem: "We went the morning to the fire station in sea point and gave
everyone a breakfast packet and we spend the morning with the staff. They showed
us around and we just thanked them for everything that they do in our community!
In the evening, we went to the fire station in Roeland street and we gave them
powerade and bar ones. They were half way in their shift: 12 more hours to go....so
we thought we will just take them a snack to keep them awake and give them some
energy! we spend some time there as well." |

Sharon's
Life group "We were invited to Ikhaya Labantu Homeless Shelter and
Eyabantu Creche in Langa where Karen Belgians from the Wednesday life group works.
The day was great. Although hot and long it was very enjoyable, everyone worked
really hard. There was so much to do and little time but the team is keen to come
back again. Adele fixed the security door on the men's which was a nightmare as
it had a metal frame and broke 4 drill bits! Lisa did an awesome God in charge
of the garden, weeding. Jacqui tackled the watering system and taught guys form
the shelter to paint. Susan, Moyra and Erica planted beautiful flowers along the
border to the entrance of the project. Karen started cutting tyres but managed
to cut through the power wire! Not the most helpful! Moyra donated 20 tyres which
will be turned into potato growing. " |

Carita's
Project "We handed out flyers down main road and beach road to people,
in post boxes and osn cars. Then in the afternoon we went to Somerset hospital
to hand out puzzles to patients and toys to the children. We also prayed with
the parents of the children and handed cards to them. Was a great day!" |

Renaldo
& Noleen (Youth) "We went to Somerset Hospital to the kids ward.
We played with them & handed out Easter eggs to parents & staff as kids
were to sick to eat. We also had balloons and chatted with the moms. They were
really glad we came it gave them a break." |
