Time to live openly and expansively
"I can't tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. We didn't fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren't small, but you're living them in a small way. I'm speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!" 2 Cor 6: 11-13 (The Message)

Bethlehem is a small town to the south of Jerusalem, yet the most important figure in the history of mankind was born there. Mary was insignificant, unknown to the masses, but God chose her to give birth to his son. God once used a special lad, with a very small lunch to feed thousands of people.

Many of us consider ourselves to be insignificant, but God uses little people. It is time for us to see the big lives that we are capable of living - to understand that God can use the smallest of deeds in a big way.

Life Conference with Dr Robi
Life Church is hosting their annual conference from 26-28 August 2010 in Sea Point. The theme for this year is EMPOWER! The guest speaker is Dr Robi Sonderegger, a clinical psychologist from Australia.

Over the past 15 years, Dr Robi has gone from being a celebrity snowboard instructor to the rich and famous (including Princes Charles and Harry) to a humanitarian activist for child-soldiers and sex-slaves (Pride of Australia Medal Finalist). He was a guest speaker at the 2010 Hillsong and Hillsong Women's Conference.

Contracted through the Commonwealth of Australia, Dr. Robi spent a number of years developing and validating evidence-based early intervention and effective treatment programs for behavioural and emotional disorders. Internationally, he is recognised as an expert consultant in trauma associated with war, exploitation, and natural disaster (with tens of thousands of refugees having graduated from his programs).

Please visit his website at www.drrobi.com for more information. Or visit Life Church Website at www.life-church.co.za for more information about the conference.

ICCD Mission Trip visiting Quelimane
A group from International City Church Doncaster (ICCD) will be visiting Pastors Oswaldo and Annmaree from 13-21 August. The team will be involved in community outreach and will be visiting projects involved with vulnerable and orphaned children such as Okalawa Village.

ICCD, lead by senior pastors Grayson and Del Jones, has been involved with Quelimane for a number of years. They have played a huge role in helping to build the church and reach out to the community of Quelimane. Quelimane Life Church is proud to host this mission team!

Amy gave birth to two boys!
Congratulations Amy du Toit on giving birth to two amazing boys.
"Malachi Connor Du Toit (2.3kg, 47cm) entered the world first and gave a hearty scream to announce his arrival, while Jackson Riley Du Toit (2.9kg, 53cm) decided he quite fancied the additional space his brother had left and held siege under my ribs until an additional cut and a load of pulling and prodding dragged him kicking and screaming to freedom." Amy said in her letter to us.

Amy volunteered at Sibongile and did a phenomenal job with the children. I know everyone at Sibongile misses you! May you and Wayne enjoy every moment with your sons!
