Building of Okalawo Village has begun

May has been a tremendously exciting time for the team in Quelimane. A two week intensive training programme was completed with fourteen men from Quelimane and Numunya. They were taught how to produce and build with the interlocking bricks that will be used to construct most of Okalawo village. During the first week of training nearly 3000 blocks were produced!

Part of the course involved construction training and use of the interlocking bricks, which is different to the normal construction methods used in Mozambique. To make this practical, the first new structure in Okalawo was constructed. The building, which will ultimately serve as the guardhouse at the entrance to the village, was completed up to roof level by the trainees.

Kids Club in Samora Machel

Ubomi is hosting a one day Kids Club for the children of Samora Machel Township on the 8th of July. We have been working in this township for 4 years and are excited to have the opportunity to spoil the children and show them how special they are.
To make this event a success, we need your support. We want to provide all the children with snacks, lunch, surprise packs with presents, decor and great games. If you can provide any assistance or volunteer on the day, please contact Carita on carita@ubomi.com.

We are also working with different preschools in Samora Machel. One of the biggest needs is educational book and toys. If you can help us to meet this need, please contact Niki at the Ubomi office or email info@ubomi.com

Mozambique Mission Trip

In June, Quelimane Life Church is sending a Mission Team to volunteer at Life Church and partner with Ubomi. They will be in Cape Town from 14-21 June. They will help with our Evangelism program, screening of the games at the church, outreaches, events and Futsol Tournament. The team is passionate about the church and ready to be part of the Soccer World Cup program. Please keep them in your prayers for safe travelling and to have a great time in Cape Town.
